We had so much fun at Michelle & Jesus's Calistoga wedding! Their families and guests were so welcoming and full of life. Every detail was lovingly hand made or donated by their friends and families, from the invitations and table decor, to the venue (a family friend's Calistoga home), wine donated by their friends at Dutch Henry Winery and the late night snack of Napa Valley Crust wood fired pizza . Even the bride's dress was a labor of love. The wedding dress worn by her mother so many years ago was transformed into a beautiful gown to fit a modern bride of today.
Michelle & Jesus knew that every minute of their wedding would be a party, leaving little time for formal portraits. They chose to focus the formal photo time on their family and wedding party and spend more time for bridal portraits at a later date. (view their I Do Re-Do blog posting here) Even with the limited portrait time we had we managed to catch a beautiful sunset for a quick bride and groom session before rejoining the party.
The joy and excitement of Michelle & Jesus's love was felt everywhere throughout the day. Jesus walked into the ceremony to wild cheers from the guests and Michelle received an even louder reception. The ceremony was filled with loving tributes and blessings from their family and finished of with an elaborate handshake and dance from the bride and groom before their first kiss as husband and wife. The tributes continued into the party with comical toasts and words of wisdom.
By the end of the evening the groom had split his pants AND ended up in the pool thanks to his groomsmen! A quick change of clothes and some late night wood fired pizza from the Napa Valley Crust pizza truck and everyone was ready to continue the party late into the evening.
